Strength for the Weary

Updated: Jun 30

Scripture: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

Life often leaves us feeling worn down—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. But Isaiah offers a promise not rooted in human effort, but in divine strength: those who hope in the Lord will be renewed.

This kind of hope is more than wishful thinking. It’s confident trust in God’s character and timing. It’s choosing to wait on Him when life feels stalled, to trust Him when the future is unclear, and to draw strength from His presence rather than our own resolve.

The imagery Isaiah uses is powerful—soaring like eagles, running without exhaustion, walking without fainting. These aren't just poetic metaphors; they’re pictures of what’s possible when we stop relying on our limited strength and start depending on God’s limitless supply.

Are you tired today? Weary from the weight you carry? Lift your eyes to the One who never tires, never sleeps, and never lets go.

Prayer: Father, when I am weary, lift me. When I feel weak, strengthen me. Help me to place my hope in You alone. Renew my spirit, steady my steps, and help me soar by Your strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
