The Gospel of Jesus Christ

What Is the Gospel?

The word Gospel means “Good News.” But good news only makes sense when we understand the bad news:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

All of us have rebelled against God. We were created to reflect His image, walk in His love, and obey His commands—but we turned away. Because of our sin, we are spiritually dead and separated from God.

“For the wages of sin is death...” — Romans 6:23a

But God, rich in mercy, did not leave us in our brokenness.

God’s Rescue Plan

“But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life, fully obeyed the Father, and died a sinner’s death on the cross. He took the punishment we deserved, then rose from the dead three days later—conquering sin and death forever.

This is not a myth or metaphor. This is the greatest act of love and the turning point of human history.

How Do I Receive This Gift?

Salvation is not earned by good deeds. It is a gift from God.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... not by works, so that no one can boast.” — Ephesians 2:8-9

We are called to:

  • Repent (turn from sin and toward God)

  • Believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior

  • Confess Him publicly and follow Him fully

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9

What Happens Next?

When you believe in Jesus:

  • Your sins are forgiven

  • You are adopted into God's family

  • The Holy Spirit comes to live in you

  • You are called to grow, serve, and shine

This isn't just a one-time decision—it’s a new life.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation...” — 2 Corinthians 5:17
