Seeing God in Everything: Learning to Live with Spiritual Eyes Open

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it…” — Psalm 24:1“In Him we live and move and have our being.” — Acts 17:28

Sometimes we think God only speaks through church services, quiet times, or worship songs.

But what if He's everywhere—all the time?

Not just in the "spiritual" moments, but in the ordinary ones. In the noise and the stillness. In the laughter and the pain. In school, in sunsets, in subway rides, in silence.

The truth is—God is not distant. He is present. The problem isn’t His absence. It’s our attention.

Let’s talk about what it means to see God in everything—and how to train your heart to notice Him.

🌅 1. Slow Down and Look Again

You can’t notice God if you’re always rushing.

“Be still and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

When you pause, you start to see:

  • Beauty in the sky He painted this morning

  • Kindness in a stranger’s smile

  • Grace in the way He protected you from things you didn’t even see

God’s fingerprints are everywhere. You just need to slow down and pay attention.

🖼️ 2. God Speaks Through Creation

“For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities... have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made.” — Romans 1:20

Creation isn’t random. It’s revelation. Mountains declare His strength. Oceans reflect His power. Rain whispers His mercy. Stars reveal His glory.

Every time you step outside, you're stepping into a living message about who God is.

💭 3. He’s in Your Thoughts and Questions

God isn’t intimidated by your inner world.

That random thought about Him? That quiet conviction? That wondering moment? That might be Him nudging you.

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” — Isaiah 30:21

Even your questions can be invitations to hear His voice. Don’t brush them off—bring them to Him.

🤝 4. He Shows Up in People

Sometimes God shows up in a friend’s encouragement, a stranger’s kindness, or a conversation you didn’t expect.

When someone shows you grace, patience, or truth—it may be God loving you through them.

“Whatever you did for one of the least of these... you did for Me.” — Matthew 25:40

Look past the person. See the divine through the human.

🧘 5. Practice a “God-Aware” Life

You don't need a lightning bolt moment to be close to God. You just need to include Him in the moment you're already in.

Start asking simple questions:

  • “God, where are You in this?”

  • “What are You trying to show me right now?”

  • “Who do You want me to see like You do?”

Make space to see with spiritual eyes. Because He’s always speaking—you just have to start watching and listening.

🕊️ Final Word

You don’t need a mountaintop moment to experience God. He’s in your breath. In your schedule. In your silence. In everything.

Ask Him to open your eyes.

“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Your law.” — Psalm 119:18

Because when you live aware of His presence, everything becomes holy.
