How to Obtain Favor From the Lord

Today's post is going to be short, but meaningful. It is how to gain favor from God.

What is favor? Favor from the Lord signifies divine approval, goodwill, and blessing that is freely given, not earned. We can apply this by humbly seeking God's will, living in obedience to His commands, and trusting in His grace, recognizing that any good we receive is a gift from Him.

But don't just take my word from it-here are seven pieces of scripture to back it up.

“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” — Psalm 84:11

“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” — Proverbs 3:4

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” — Micah 6:8

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4

“But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” — James 4:6

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” — Hebrews 11:6

“And whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.” — 1 John 3:22
