Scripture: “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” – Genesis 1:27

Before we accomplished anything, before we earned a title, gained approval, or failed at something important—God declared our value. Genesis 1:27 reveals one of the most profound truths about humanity: we are made in the image of God.
This isn’t symbolic or poetic language—it’s foundational to our identity. To be created in God’s image (the Imago Dei) means that every human being carries intrinsic worth, dignity, and purpose. We were not accidents. We were not mistakes. We were made intentionally, creatively, and lovingly by the Creator Himself.
Being made in His image also means we were designed to reflect His character—to be vessels of love, justice, creativity, wisdom, and compassion. While sin has marred that image, it has not destroyed it. Through Christ, we are being restored to reflect God more clearly in our words, choices, and relationships.
This truth speaks against every lie that says we are not enough. It calls us to treat others with sacred respect, regardless of status, background, or belief. It reminds us that our lives are not random, but divinely woven into God’s story.
Prayer: Creator God, thank You for making me in Your image. Help me to live in light of that truth and to see others through Your eyes. Restore in me what has been broken by sin and help me reflect Your goodness in everything I do. Amen.
