Be Still and Know

Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

In a world of constant motion, where our schedules are packed and our minds overwhelmed, God speaks with quiet authority: “Be still.” It’s not just an invitation to pause—it’s a command to trust.

Stillness doesn’t mean inactivity; it means surrender. It’s the quiet confidence that comes from knowing God is in control, even when we are not. It’s choosing faith over frenzy, silence over striving.

The context of Psalm 46 is chaos—earthquakes, nations in uproar, trouble on every side. Yet in the midst of that noise, God reminds us who He is: exalted among the nations, exalted in the earth. He doesn’t ask us to fix everything. He asks us to stop, to breathe, and to recognize His presence and power.

When life feels unsteady, let this be your anchor: You are not alone. God is sovereign. He sees you. He holds tomorrow. And in His presence, peace is possible.

Prayer: Father, teach me to be still in Your presence. Quiet my heart when it wants to race ahead. Remind me that You are God, and I don’t have to be. Help me rest in Your power and trust Your plan. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
